They are at it again...PLEASE PRAY!

The "they" I'm referring to is the gov't in Elijah's country. You may remember back in September when the gov't was going to consider a "moratorium" on international adoptions. This vote was being funded/pushed by UNICEF. It never got up for a vote. Praise God!

Over the past week, this issue has come up again. (I'm not sure if UNICEF is behind this one or not.) This was posted on the US gov't adoption website: (I replaced the country name with EE.)

The "EE" legislature is in the process of voting on a bill that would suspend all intercountry adoptions from countries without bilateral agreements with EE, including adoptions from the United States. The bill passed a first reading and vote, but must still pass a second reading and be signed into law by the president. The second reading could take place in the next few weeks. If the bill passes the second reading, it may be signed into law as early as the end of 2010. The draft bill appears to include suspension of all adoptions in progress.

PLEASE PRAY that this "second reading" never happens, and if it does, that the president will not sign it into law. Andrea from RR has been working very, very hard with many influential people both here in the states and overseas to make the gov't hears the voice of these precious children. It would be a

But...as Andrea so eloquently puts it...
"I understand the feeling [of being]powerless, but I also know that The One who knows every single EE orphan by name is NOT powerless. So, I am going to keep praying and ask Him to convict the hearts of people in EE that can make some noise and stop this from happening."

I will update if I hear anything. But the Lord knows exactly how this will turn out.  "Do you trust me?"  Yes, Lord, I do.

I've been reading all about this and praying that it won't be signed into law! It would do such a HUGE disservice to those little ones who need caring people like you the most!

Trusting in the Lord...
