This morning, I got a call from our most wonderful state side paperwork helper. Our appointment date with the SDA (State Dept of Adoptions) in Elijah's county is set for November 30th at 10AM!!!! Praise the Lord!!!
We are SOOOO excited!!! THIS IS IT!!! We will be leaving sometime Thanksgiving weekend as we want to be over there a day or two beforehand. Plus with the usual notorious Thanksgiving blizzard and extra Thanksgiving weekend travelers, we want to give ourselves lots of extra time.
Just think - if all goes well, we will be holding Elijah in our arms on Dec. 2nd. Oh my goodness, I can hardly begin to imagine that. Oh, what joy! Oh, what a wonderful God we serve! He will have someone who loves him and will have a family all his own.
While we will not live in fear and are continuing to make plans full steam ahead, please do continue to pray that this bill in Elijah's country to stop or postpone adoptions from the US does not pass. Better yet, pray it never even gets up for a vote! As far as we know, the vote is scheduled for Nov. 24th, but that could change.
